CDDTC Championship Show

The Town Hall, Jedburgh, 18th June 2016. Judge: Mr Ronnie Irving (Dandyhow).

The entry of 60 dogs plus another few NFCs was excellent and shows that the concept of being back to back with the Border Union Show does seem to work. My thanks to the Committee for their hospitality and to my stewards for their very efficient work. One encouraging factor was the number of younger people and new exhibitors present at this show. This can only be a good sign for the future of the breed. I thought that there continued to be rather too many dogs with light eyes. By and large hind movement was of a reasonable standard but front movement still leaves a good deal to be desired. I was sorry that several otherwise good dogs were not in the best of coats. I know that coats are a temporary factor but if a breed ignores coats too often, that eventually lands it in problems. The dogs were all shown in really clean condition.
