Scottish Kennel Club 2

Royal Highland Showground, 25th August 2013. Judge: Mrs Lynda Bromley (Mishahda).

I would like to thank all the exhibitors who came with their Dandies, it was a privilege for me to be asked to judge them. Overall the quality was good, and movement sound. Correct dentition and good sized teeth in all exhibits on the day.

Denham's Dentgate Hollyberries

Puppy Dog/Bitch 1st: Denham's Dentgate Hollyberries
Pretty pepper bitch with lovely expression and dark eye. Domed skull, fine well placed ears, good skull to muzzle ratio. Adult coat coming. Well padded tight feet. Still has some body maturing to do, but shapely outline. She moved soundly and happily. BP.

Junior Dog/Bitch 1st: Kinsey-Morgan & Hislop's Inzievar Sparkling Silver
Another feminine well presented pepper with round dark hazel eyes that create the melting Dandie expression. Excellent head, good stop, well placed ears. Correct shoulder placement, good front assembly. Chest filling out nicely, well rounded ribcage and neat tuck up with corresponding rise over loin and fall to croup and tail. Body outline and length, pleasing to my eye. Double coat. Angulated stifles and short let down hocks. Moved soundly, with drive, keeping her topline. BCC & BOB. Was pleased to see her shortlisted in the last 6 in the Terrier group.
2nd: Denham's Dentgate Royal Jubilee
Pepper bitch. Soft expression, rich dark eyes. Finer ears than 1, but weaker in head overall. Good ribbing, softer coated. Moved better coming than going, less angulated stifle, so she didn’t drive so well from the rear.

Postgraduate Dog 1st: Kerrush's Inzievar Silver And Gold
Masculine pepper with dark eye and strong muzzle. Excellent head with broad skull, good stop and occiput. Strong bone, good layback of shoulder, well padded feet. Deep broad chest with good length of rib. Coat ok. Back quarters with short strong hocks, moved easily with drive around the ring. Liked his overall length, shape and movement. ResDCC.
2nd: Riach's Puddockswell Moon Dance
Pepper slighter than one but well balanced. Appealing expression with dark eye, head not as strong as 1. shoulders ok. Stood slightly back on pasterns at the front, reasonable depth of chest, ribs well sprung and sound quarters. Better tail set than 1.Crisp double coat. Kept his topline on the move, front movement better than rear. Closer behind than 1.

Limit Dog 1st: Sleight's Cassencarrie Bobby Vee at Bonnybeck
Masculine Mustard. Dark well spaced eyes giving a melting expression of wisdom. Correct ear set, strong head with broad muzzle and muscular neck. Feet well padded but stands back on his pasterns a bit in front, shoulders ok. Well let down chest, good length of rib, nicely angulated quarters. Correct double coat. Moved happily, with more positive rear movement.

Open Dog 1st: Deacon & Pearce's Ch. Cassencarrie I Kid You Not
Well presented in rich mustard crisp coat. Dark well spaced eyes with soft expression. Good stop, head and top skull ok. Shown in hard working condition, well muscled with good bone. Strong neck set into laid back shoulders. Well padded, tight feet. Straight front, deep chest, well sprung rib and balanced length overall. Gentle drop from loin to correct set on of tail. Well angulated hindquarters, with short hocks. Moved with an ease and drive around the ring. DCC.

Postgraduate Bitch 1st: Miller's Puddockswell Moon Whisper at Dryfevalley
Pretty pepper bitch. Melting expression from well placed dark eyes. Fine ears, correct set on. Nicely domed head, good ribbing, in proportion to her overall body, length and size. Double pencilled coat. Nicely angulated rear stifles. Kept her topline on the move. Preferred her rear movement to 2nd in class.
2nd: Sleight's Cassencarrie Madelaina at Bonnybeck
Mustard. Soft dark eye, good stop and strong muzzle. Shoulders slightly upright, causing her front assembly to be a bit wide. Well sprung, deep ribs, but a little straight in stifle which affected her drive on the move. However she moved happily and showed herself well.

Limit Bitch 1st: Kinsey-Morgan & Hislop's Inzievar Sparkling Silver
2nd: Skitt & Marshall's Duneideann Limited Edition
Feminine mustard with typical Dandie expression. Nicely domed head, strong neck, well laid shoulders and nicely angulated rear quarters. Double pencilled coat. Rear movement was sound, better than front movement on the day. She presented a lovely outline, but was topped by head qualities and overall movement of 1.

Open Bitch 1st: Marshall's Duneideann First Edition
Pepper with soft expression, dark eyes, good ear placement. Lovely full head, with defined stop and backskull. Well laid front shoulder with straight front. Chest well let down between the legs. Good ribbing and tuck up, balanced length. Well angulated stifle, short hocks. Crisp pencilled double coat. Balanced all round and kept her topline on the move. Covered the ground well. ResBCC.
2nd: Deacon's Ch. Cassencarrie Miss Grace at Pennywave
Feminine Pepper, dark eye, correct ear set. Smaller head than 1, and narrower through the chest. Shoulders ok, nicely sprung rib. Well muscled quarters. In short coat. Lovely outline, standing and on the move. Moved with ease, but preferred the front movement of 1 on the day.
