Wetherby Racecourse, 30th September 2017. Judge: Mrs Jackie Shore (Swanwillow). My overall view of the breed today was lack of balance height to length, some being too long and not having the support of muscle and long rib cage, also narrow skulls without the required dome and lighter eyes which spoils that melting expression. On the plus side movement was generally good considering the conditions, temperament and coats were good.   Dog CC & BOB Reserve Dog CC Bitch CC Reserve Bitch CC Best Puppy Deacon's Ch./Am GCh. Jedburgh Town Hall, 12th August 2017. Judge: Mr Keith Marshall (Duneideann). I would like to thank the CDDTC for this invitation to judge their summer open show. Although a fairly small entry there was enough quality which made for an enjoyable appointment. On the whole mouths were good, I only saw one borderline bite. Lovely 8.5 mth pepper lad, well proportioned Masc head with adorable expression. Great length and everything where it should be at this age. A bit shy on the move but once his handler got him going, he moved well showing no fault. Very close for best dog but his reluctance to move cost him. For me, one to watch! RBD BP. Junior Dog 2nd: Thomson's Dryfevalley Mister Todd Lovely mustard dog with lots of type. A nicely proportion head with a great expression and profuse top knot.Moved well for his handler. Still carrying too much under coat which spoiled his profile. A new jacket and could do well. An honest little lad. Limit Dog 1st: Sleight's Bonnybeck Moonlight Bay Mature mustard dog presented in tip top condition, correct jacket with lovely pigment. Strong masc head with correct strong bite. Moved well holding his top line both on the move and standing. Well muscled quarters. A little proud of his tail although set well. Not a foot out of place for his handler. A well prepared team. BD. Minor Puppy Bitch 1st: Sleight's Mishahda Where It All Began A nice pepper puppy bitch, with good length. Moving well for her handler (again another well schooled partnership from this kennel). Coat beginning to come through showing good texture and pigment. A happy confident puppy. Junior Bitch 1st: Heffernan's Dryfevalley Sparkling Sky Sweet little 18mth pepper bitch with a lovely typical Dandie expression who had a nicely pencilled coat. A bit reluctant to move today. Postgraduate Bitch 1st: Riach's Puddockswell Shadow Weaver A truly gorgeous little pepper bitch, prepared extremely well. Performed her job faultlessly Moving freely around the ring. Well muscled throughout and low to the ground. Could do with losing a bit of condition from her shoulders. An honest little bitch and for me the prettiest of the day. RBB RBIS. 2nd: Miller's Dryfevalley Hey Genivieve 2yr mustard bitch with a lovely expression, feminine head of good proportions. Good length with the crispest of coats although carrying too much of it which rather spoiled her profile. Limit Bitch 1st: Shore's Mishahda Golden Chestnut at Swanwillow Up to size mustard bitch with the best top line of the day which she held both standing and on the move. Well prepared and conditioned crisp jacket. Moving freely around the ring for her handler. 2nd: Miller's Dryfevalley Minnie The Minx Well muscled mustard bitch with a lovely dark eye creating a gorgeous expression. A true little workmanlike Dandie who moved well for her handler. Carrying a bit to much coat today but great texture and lovely pigment. Open Bitch 1st: Kerrush's Micklam Sun Kissed A mustard bitch full of enthusiasm, more interested in having fun with her handler to begin with but when he got her to focus, she moved beautifully holding her top line correctly showing strong muscled quarters, correct shoulder placement and moving with drive from the rear. A lovely sized bitch who is well off for furnishings with a jacket of correct texture, a little too severely trimmed for my taste but that aside, for me the best of the day. BB BIS. 2nd: Denham's Dentgate Fire Opal An honest little pepper bitch with a correct pepper jacket. Nice angulation which allowed her to move freely around the ring. Head of good proportions with delightful expression.

Staffordshire County Showground, 27th October 2017. Judge: Mr Paul Eardley. It is always a joy to judge the Dandies as the dogs give such a lovely welcome, and this appointment was no exception. There were plenty of typical Dandie temperaments on display with that greeting, via a real wag of the tail and expressive eyes just melting you as they look at you. Overall, I felt that movement has improved a little, and in a number of cases movement did sway my decisions. On a less positive note, I felt that there were one or two narrower skulls with more foreface than is desirable and there were one or two "iffy" bites which needs to be watched.   Dog CC Reserve Dog CC Bitch CC & BOB Reserve Bitch CC Best Puppy Deacon's Ch./Am GCh. Super head, lovely dome developing, perfect stop, super jacket and in lovely condition. Nice outline moving and standing and super temperament. Junior Dog 1st: Cox-Purcell's German Dandies' Zampano at Puddockswell It was a close contest between the first two here. This mustard presented a good outline standing and moving and had a good rear. Is big enough and front could improve, but a nice sort. 2nd: Harcourt-Morris's Dainty Dandies River Mersey at Lenacourt Better size than the winner. Another with a decent rear. Preferred the head of the winner. With maturity this one could turn the tables. 3rd: Cavanagh's German Dandies' Zorro at Puddockswell Limit Dog 1st: Drake's Tollcross Tartan Tavish This boy won the class on his overall outline and tail carriage. Was a bit sluggish today and his coat was a bit on the blow. Will look better with a new jacket. 2nd: Sleight's Bonnybeck Moonlight Bay Super jacket on this boy and well presented. A bit proud of his tail. Delightful temperament. Open Dog 1st: Deacon's Ch./Am GCh. Pennywise On The Road Again The overall proportions of this boy caught my eye as soon as he entered the ring. Super dome, excellent stop and a great muzzle and bite. Good moving boy who covers the ground with ease. Expertly handled to present him at his best at all times. He was particularly impressive when stacked presenting a typical outline. I was delighted to add another CC to his tally. 2nd: Booth's Borderstone Kingman for Lannia Eyecatching boy with a good outline standing and moving, very easy on the eye. Had the correct crisp coat and he just needs a bit more of it to complete the picture. Super rear. In my opinion is of definite champion grading so I hope that he picks up that third CC soon.
