Stoneleigh Park, 22nd September 2019. Judge: Mr Mark Ord (Marnadee). I would like to thank The Officers & Committee for inviting me to judge this celebratory 90th Anniversary Championship Show. This was my first time awarding CCs in this breed and felt very honoured to be offered a breed club show. I was thrilled to draw an excellent entry for the club and Thank You to all who brought dogs for me to judge today. The atmosphere was friendly and relaxed and professionally organized to the last detail. Well done to you all and I wish you all the very best for the future. Special thanks to my 2 very efficient stewards for keeping the running of the ring smooth and effective. My general observations were that the breed characteristics are being maintained by a dedicated small band of breeders and exhibitors. All dogs were in healthy condition and the majority were presented to perfection. Sadly, I did find one undershot jaw and one monorchid dog. I did note a large variation in size in the breed but pleasingly most heads were typical of the breed standard along with eye and ear sets. Some tails are getting longer than desired and this needs watching.   Dog CC & BIS Deacon & Hill's Ch./Am GCh. Pennywise On The Road Again Reserve Dog CC Booth's Ch. Veteran Bitch 1st: Russell's Ch/Aus Ch. Jollygaze Hopeless Romantic for Hawkesmill At nearly 11 yrs. of age I was most surprised to be told her age as on first impressions looks so much younger. Very desirable in head, still holds herself to perfection and her movement won her the well-deserved Res CC in tough competition today. Several of my class winners could have taken top award today but she held her own and could not be denied it in the challenge. Pepper coat still of excellent textures & well presented & furnished, still sound fore & aft. 2nd: Bell's Kirkhalin Mystic Prudence from Reidswire Almost 10yrs of age this pepper b was also in hard condition, in excellent coat but would like more top knot on her skull, not the head shape of 1 but scores in neck and front, well bodied, sound well set quarters and tail, moved out well fore and aft. 3rd: Milliner's Millerim Rubis Jeudi       The SDDTC Championship Show was kindly sponsored by Royal Canin.
