East of England Showground, 6th January 2019. Judge: Mrs Meriel Taylor.

Many thanks to the Officers and Committee for inviting me to judge at this show. Thank you to the Dandie Exhibitors for their entry. I was looking for a dog that had a distinctive head, intelligent eyes and a long low weaselly body. My main winners reflected this.

Best Dog Deacon's Cassencarrie Of Course
Reserve Best Dog Pettit's Cofgodas Wolf River
Best Bitch & BOB Milton's Ch. Hawkesmill Jenny for Wilmit
Reserve Best Bitch Rolland's Dandiroyal Cotswold Dream

Junior Dog 1st: Stanley's Sokrovische Gardariki Aristokrat at Waffelin
15 month old Mustard dog with a good head and large intelligent eyes, rich dark hazel and set wide apart. Ears were pendulous and set well back and low on skull. Good scissor bite and strong jaw. Well developed neck, strong and muscular, leading into well laid shoulder. His body is not as long and weaselly as I would have liked. Tail set on a little high, but he moved well. Coat could be a little harsher.

Postgraduate Dog 1st: Pettit's Cofgodas Wolf River
20 month old pepper. He has a good head and large intelligent hazel eyes, set wide apart. His ear set on is correct, pendulous and set well back. His jaw is strong and he has a correct scissor bite. Good muscular neck leading into well laid shoulders. Long strong body and good spring of ribs. Feet rounded and well padded. Tail set on correct and he moved well and his presentation was exemplary, in good harsh coat and well handled. The only criticism is, I would like a little bit more rise over his loin. Reserve Best Dog.
2nd: Hubbard & Miller's Dryfevalley Johnny Fox
2 year old mustard male who caught my eye when he came in the ring. He has a strongly made head and eyes of correct size; dark and intelligent. Good ear set on and correct scissor bite. Good neck leading into well laid shoulders. Long strong body and good spring of ribs. His coat is of the correct texture. Feet rounded and well padded. His tail set on is correct, but his rear hind movement let him down.

Junior Bitch 1st: Kurg & Milton's Wilmit Raffles at Etsill
13 month old mustard bitch and what a cracker. Her head is strong, but feminine. Good dark hazel eyes, full of intelligence, set wide apart. Good strong jaw, with correct scissor bite. Ears set well back, broad at the junction with the head pendulous and tapering to a point. Neck is strong and muscular, set well into well laid shoulders. Her body is long and weaselly and she has a good spring of ribs, with a moderate rise over her loin. Feet are rounded and well padded. Tail set on correct and she moved with drive. Beautifully presented and a good harsh coat. In the challenge she decided to play her owner up.

15 months old bitch and much of the same applies, she has a good strong head and large dark intelligent eyes. Good ear set and correct scissor bite. Good neck leading into well laid shoulders.
