Crufts 2008

NEC Birmingham, 9th March 2008. Judge: Mrs Margaret Nicholson.

"I would like to thank those who entered under me at Crufts. It was an honour and a pleasure to judge at this prestigious show. A large entry of 83 surely bodes well for the future of the Dandie.
"In the younger classes, I was surprised and disappointed how many front feet were not straight, and there were too many level front teeth throughout the entry. Tailset and carriage need to be watched in future breeding. A tail carried too high really spoils the unique outline of the Dandie.
"Back movement has certainly improved over the last ten years. There were a lot of novice handlers to whom I wish good luck. They did well. There are still a huge variety of types in the breed, some of which are not true to the Standard. What needs striving for is consistency combined with quality. I was delighted with my main winners who were lovely examples of the breed."
